Apply for N50,000 Iyaloja Monie Fund by Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation

Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has initiated an awareness campaign in anticipation of the official launch of the Iyaloja Monie project under the current administration. This project aims to assist half of the nation’s impoverished and vulnerable individuals within the coming year.

This initiative adopts a comprehensive strategy to tackle grassroots challenges, aiming to restore hope for millions of Nigerians on a daily basis.

The program, designed to include around 1.5 million Nigerians, commenced its outreach in the Ushafa community within the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), engaging market women and small-scale traders in preparation for its imminent launch.

Rebranded as the Iyaloja Market Fund, Dr. Edu highlighted, “A non-interest loan of N50,000 will be extended to Phase 1 market traders selected from 109 markets spanning across each senatorial zone in Nigeria. Sensitization and enrollment procedures are underway in advance of the scheduled kickoff next month.”

According to a statement from her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Rasheed Olanrewaju Zubair, Dr. Edu stated, “President Bola Tinubu is genuinely committed to the country’s well-being and has pledged to uplift Nigerians from multifaceted poverty and humanitarian crises. Presently, he is translating promises into concrete actions.”
